500 Minutes of Summer: Reading Initiative

The officers of the Hazlet Police Department are very excited to introduce you to
our first “500 Minutes of Summer” Reading Initiative! This program is intended for
children entering grades 1 through 6 and is designed to reward children for
reading throughout the summer. There are over 10 weeks of summer vacation
starting June 26th, so reading for ten minutes a day, five days a week, Monday
through Friday, or however you and your child break it up, equals 500 […]

2022 Youth Academy

This years Police Youth Academy will take place August 8th through August 12th!

The goal of the Police Youth Academy is to familiarize children with the role of a Police Officer. Participants should be prepare for a hands-on experience in a wide variety of Law Enforcement techniques and Training. Each day will be dedicated to a different topic.

SMART STRONG SAFE

The Hazlet Township Police Department will be partnering with 180 Turning Lives Around and Bayshore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu again this year to bring back the Smart Strong Safe workshop! This FREE workshop is focused on educating and empowering young women in town and comes just in time for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

NJ Civil Service Entry Level Law Enforcement Exam

As a Civil Service Municipality, the testing for Hazlet Township police officer candidates is done by the NJ Civil Service Commission (NJ CSC). The NJ CSC recently issued examination announcements for Entry Level Law Enforcement Examination (LEE) titles. The deadline for submitting applications is 2/28/2022.
